You are browsing within the review sections of our forums. Content within these sections reflect consumer opinions of laptops. Our admins take the best and most objective laptop reviews and index them here to create a distinct selection of quality reviews with averaged overall ratings. Many of these reviews have benchmarks attached to them which allows for users to compare their laptop's performance with others, and ultimately enables us to provide a sortable list which at a glance show the fastest laptops amongst a variety of applications (gaming, video editing, web browsing, etc...). Help us build a better laptop database by submitting your laptop review.

Ferrari 3200 's Slot-loading question ...

Can the slot loading drive (Mat****a UJ-825S) on the Ferrari 3200 work with mini CD-Rs and mini DVDs ??? Will it get stuck if I try to stick one in ???

The closest answer I've found is that some of the newer Apple Powerbooks have slot-loading drives that CAN handle mini CD-Rs - provided they're the round ones an not the "business" one (i.e. square-ish) - and that they're supposedly using UJ-825s.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Note: 3 inch CDs play in tray drives, and should not be inserted into the slot-type drives like some lap tops and older iMacs have.
It seems to me like you cannot use 8cm (3 inch) CD/DVD's with slot-in type drives.

no you can't use mini cdrs. i tried putting one in.. and i thought my drive was a goner because i couldn't get the disc out. luckily, tilting the laptop and letting gravity do the job for me fixed that.
