Need Help fixing a Benchmark score

Well I have the following
AlienWare Area 51m 766 model notebook.
P4 3.2 HT 800FSB
1gig DDR
AtI 9600
Hitachi 60gig 7200rpm
16.1 screen

COmputer works great and Doom 3 is a little slow, but I keep seeing everyone getting 3000+ scores on 3dmark03 and when I run it (demo that came with notebook) I only get 2500 and 2550 with the Omega drivers..
HOw can I fix this?
I reformated the PC last night so I have nothing on it, and it still only gives me 2500.....
IT's using the demo games, it's a plane game, a shooter, some sort of RPG and stuff like that...

ANy help would be really great...

Doom 3 was in my mind when i bought this...

Help.

NG,

To get over 3000 in 3dMark03 us fellas with the 9600 need to overclock. Stock scores are exactly what you're getting.

Nope bud, your scores are perfect. the 9700 comes up with scores above 3k. the 9600 ends up in the range of the 2000's.
