I am sure there is a program to do this

I want my Mitac 8050 to automatically turn the brightness down and put the power scheme on max battery when it is not plugged in. Of course then when I plug it in I want it to automatically set to always on power scheme and turn the brightness up. Maybe I am just retarded and windows XP can already do this but it surely didn't jump out at me. So if there is anything that can do this that would be great . Also just wondering how much do you think plugging in a USB optical mouse would affect the battery life?

My CL56 already does the brightness thing on it's own... It doesn't turn it down by much, only one level, but it does do it.

For the battery thing, I use SpeedSwitch XP, it lets you change the behaviour that you want it when on battery or AC power, and it also lets you change it manually.
