Need some help deciding..

Alright after looking through a ton of laptops and debating wether or not to even get one..i found a Asus m6n and a local pc shop that will customize it for me..the specs are the following :

15.4" WXGA TFT
Intel Pentium M 1.7 GHz 2MB Cache (Dothan)
Ati Radeon 9700 64mb (dedicated)
512 pc-2700 ddr ram
40 gig hd at 5400rpm
Dvd/Cdrw
Windows Xp Home
+ What other is included on the basic m6n system (these are just the upgrades im having them put it)

For a total of $1,694.00 + tax - 10% discount..

I've been considering buying this but I would may have to sell my desktop pc.. which is : P4 2.0ghz,512 ram,g4 mx420 64mb,120gig hd,dvd/cdrw...

I will only be using the laptop for Internet,Mirc,Aim,Counter-Strike 1.6,Ventrillo... I dont use many programs.. so will this be able to replace my desktop? thanks... any feedback appreciated

Your desky isnt so bad within itself, but the Asus M6N is a very good lappy. If you are playing CS that vid card will be overkill, but if you are planning on farcry or doom3 you will be choked and it would be smart to go with the 128.

That lappy will pull off everything you need and for a 2.0 dothan that is a good price.

And the price is quite good, particularly taking into account an ADDITIONAL 10% off.

Yes. And with this graphic card you will feel like in heaven with most games (or in Hell - both in story and emotionally - if you try to play Doom 3 and I think, FarCry). Just curious: you need good battery life, right?

The processor is far better than your actual P4, and I don't need to mention that you can feel some "little" loss of space, right?

Good system. Widescreen too.

Cool.. thanks everyone.. yeah they said if i paid in cash id get a discount..or he would upgrade the HD to 60 gig for me.. imma try and see if he will upgrade to 1 gig instead of the 10% off for free .. but yeah i dont have any intentions of playing doom3 or farcry and stuff...most likely CS,Battlefield will be the only games played.. possibly EQ but i doubt it..

not bad.

I'd get the 1.5Ghz Dothan and use the extra $100 for a faster hdd
