Heat Issues

I have an 8890 and an 8790 I'm running Mobile Meter on both while idle he heat on the 8890 shows 62 c while the 8790 is only 45 c my understanding is that Fn+f10 enables an extra fan on the 8790 is their any feature like that on the 8890? Also is their anything I can do to lower the heat on the 8890 my Sanda cpu benchmarks drop by hugh margins as the 8890 heats up and causes freezes etc.
