USB Device Not Recognized
I have an Inspiron 600M. I have had it about 6 weeks now and for the most part, I love it. About 2 weeks ago, however, I started getting a “USB Device Not Recognized” message. The problem is there is not a USB device, or any other device, plugged in when it does this. The message comes up and goes away about 5 to 10 times, then it stops for awhile and starts it all over again. Getting to be very annoying. Help.
Thanks. |

Have you tried uninstalling your USB Host controllors and then letting windows reinstall them? You can also run System file checker to check for any system problems.

Do you have the Intel Mobility Chipset drivers installed?
What about the Notebook System Software? That may be important. I read the description and it said it was critical for functionality towards USB peripherals.

If you have the bluetooth module installed, it could be that dying.
This happened to me, and it drove me crazy because windows kept beeping everytime the USB thingo of the bluetooth module died and came back up. I didn't realise this until by chance I was in device manager, and the problem happened and I noticed the bluetooth module went missing (I had it disabled). In the end, a Dell tech came over and replaced my motherboard (he tried swapping the bluetooth module, but it didnt resolve the issue, but the motherboard replacement did).

USB Device Not Recognized
Just wondering if you ever solved this problem? I am having the exact same issue with my 600m. I do also have a Bluetooth Module installed and I think that it might have something to do with it as well.
ANy luck>? Craig |
