5670 Laptop Modem(yes modem) problem

My modem will dial normally to my isp...it will attempt to connect 3 or so times...and then when opening the port it will throw error 777 either my modem or the remote computer it is trying to connect to is b0rked...well since i droped my spare pcmia modem in and i connect fine...it's the integrated modem...i have reinstalled the drivers on the cd...done all the windows updating...im not gonna freak over this problem..but if anyone can offer a little insight..and be like...hey jackass do this ..and boom it works...then i'd greatly appreciate it

Dunno, sure sounds a little b0rked. Have you tried the Control Panel\\Modem Settings utility? There's a Smartlink Modem Helper within that that might give you some clues. Also, if you go to Device Manager\\Modem, right-click or double-click for Properties, and Diagnostics tab, there's another basic modem check that might offer a clue. Good luck!

thanks a lot man..i turned on safe mode and i connected....turns out my line is kinda poor quality...thanks again
