In my experience with amd 64 notebooks I had many times be unable to get it to work at full load all the time even with always on. But if you download clockgen it should do the trick. However here is the proper way to do it...but before you try these steps try to flash your bios to the latest version and see if that helps...also download cpuclock to see real time clock speeds...

You should get the AMD Powernow Dashboard from:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/...%5E964,00.html
and see if you actually need to run it at full power all the time. It will show you very nicely what speed it is running at.

Yes I did change the power scheme to "always on" and use AMD's dashboard, but it is still 800Mhz, or even lower.
I don't know about CPUid but on my laptop I don't know what motherboard it has. Any other solution?

In the eMachines M6809 laptop - another AMD 64 machine - this same problem was related to issues with the BIOS. Do you have the latest BIOS for this lappy?

do you really need to up the speed? it ups itself when there is enough work to be done. if you are not making it ramp up to it's max speed by just using it you're just not using it hard enough! if you have a program that eats clock cycles for lunch just open that and you'll be pegged at your max speed, and you'll actually be using it all. if you are not actually using the extra clock cycles you're just eating away at the battery. I'd let the comp adjust itself and be damn happy that it does to save you power. This is a good feature you're trying to end-around, why bother?

I don't even know where to download the drivers at all. The service of Ibuypower is horrible

Have you tried if speedswitchXP works with AMD 64 cpu? It is a great util for Dothan cpus.
