It's probably your in-game settings that is limiting your fps. Search google for commands to increase your fps.

There is a review of a notebook that has the same specs over here. http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=47004 . It performs MUCH better than that.I hope you have a decent ammount of memory. There seems to be alot of folks playing that game over in the gameing forum...

I changed resolution to 800 X 600 and got average of 77.16 fps on the video test. All the textures were set to HIGH with tri-linear filtering and no anti-alizing. I play at native 1680 X 1050 and get about 30 fps which is fine for game play I think and it is pretty even so that helps for aim. Other people with "lesser" machines were getting better results I thought but they have been running with lower quality textures I am not sure but maybe there is a compatibility problem. My 9700 is clocked at 410/270 I tested at 490/300 and the fps for 800 X 600 was 83.74 which is really not worth OC'ing.

I'm having pretty drastic artifact problems on CS:Source. I get lots of skinny triangles poking off the weapons. It's really irritating. I've tried both the stock drivers and the omegas. I don't have it overclocked at all so I don't think it should be doing this.

Is this a problem with my video card? Will it need to be replaced?

Hey wow. As soon as I posted my problem I had a sudden flash of insight. I run dual monitors. As soon as I disabled my secondary screen, the artifacts disappeared.
