Audio Problems?

First off, I know that this is the wrong section but I feel that my question will be answered literally days faster than it would in the desktop section.

Anyway, here is my problem. My computer outputs sound, but just not when I'm playing any media file. I can't find any help on the internet. I downloaded the latest audio drivers and reinstalled window media player and still no go. I'm running Windows XP Pro, and I have RealTek AC'97 onboard sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you get an error when media player tries to play a file, or just silence? Try a different player.
Here's two: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4094.html http://www.winamp.com/player/free.php

I don't get any error at all, just no sound plays. I've tried using over 5 different media players. I checked my audio properties and none of the boxes are checked for mute either. The sound was working fine yesterday, then all of a sudden it was not. Once again, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You might try the original driver on Sager's website. The newer one seems to have some problems.
