Satellite Pro 6100 - "DC IN" blinking; service manual needed

Hello everybody!
I have a big problem with my toshiba notebook. After I press Power button, DC IN LED starts blinking orange and notebook doesn`t want to boot up.

I followed this suggestion:
1. Pull out the AC ADAPTER (DC IN LED is blinking).
2. After removing the MAIN BATTERY, leave the machine as it is for 2 or 3
minutes.
3. Replace the MAIN BATTERY and re-connect the AC-ADAPTER.
4. Confirm that the DC IN LED is green and that the MAIN BATTERY LED is
orange.
5. After charging the MAIN BATTERY for 2 or 3 minutes, turn on the PC.

unfortunatelly it didn`t help :/
Could anybody suggest me other way to fix my laptop?
Thanks!
greetings,
glondi

PS Maybe somebody has service manual of Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100?

One thing to try, and i know this sounds crazy.

Turn the machine off. Place your hand right above the touchpad on the keyboard. Press down on the keyboard, right around the blue mouse pointer in the middle of the keyboard. Then power the unit back up and see if you still get the flashing amber led.

I don`t have a touchpad, only accupoint II ...
I pressed 'H' and 'B' and 'N' buttons which are around the blue pointer but it didn`t help :-/

greetings and thanks for your support,
glondi

What i mean by pushing down on the keyboard, i meant laying your hand flat at the bottom of the keyboard and pressing REALLY hard. Then turning it on.

Otherwise,

You will probably need to send the laptop in for repairs. Sounds like the motherboard is shot. Thats' normally the case. If the unit is still in warranty you will be fine, if not, it may get rather expensive.

Unfortunately it is not on warranty :/ and I hope that it isn`t a mainboard problem. I`ve heard that such problems can be caused by videocard displaced from the slot... I will check it in the nearest few days..

Thanks anyway for your guides

PS I`m not brave enough to push REALLY har on the keyboard; this sound terrifying ;]

If the power supply microprocessor detects a power supply malfunction, the DC IN LED
blinks in orange in a specific pattern to indicate the corresponding error code as described
below.
Start Off for two seconds
Error code (8 bits)
one second = 1
half second = 0

so you wright down the code left to right
the you read from right to left and convert to HEX

0100 1000

2 1 = 12h ( remember read right to left)

a 12h = DC supply current is over 6.05A.

In 100% of the time I have seen a flashing DC-IN LED on a 6100 it has had to have the main PCB replaced or repaired.
The issue is with a connection between the main PCB and the power PCB.
The solder on the connection on the main PCB cracks and needs to be re-soldered.

In Australia, were I am at the moment, this issue is covered under an extended warranty, just for this issue, even if the original warranty on the machine has run out.
Not sure if the warranty for the issues is in place in any other countries.
You will need to check with your local Toshiba sevice center.

Dear HuH?
Today I have the same problem with my 6100.
But the indicated error code is different:
Here it is (written down from left to right): 0100 0001
According to your guide this is:
2 8 = 82h
Could you tell me what this mean or send me table with error codes for Toshiba (6100)?
Thanks in advance!!!

To all who have same problem:
The error code im my case was: 0100 0001 i.e. 1(S),1(L),5(S),1L {S=Short blink; L=Long Blink). I've fixed this! The problem was BAD CONNECTED VIDEO CARD. Just detach card, clean connectors from dust and connect again.
