wireless range trick

I have an external wireless catd and I put one of those range extenders for cellphones on it and it gave me an extra click on the signal bar....SWEET. Has anyone else done thiis...or is it just due to a shift in body posture that is deflecting the signal

Those range extenders for cell phones - if they aren't powered - won't do squat for anything (cell phones or wifi).

man that thing wont do squat..... if you look at most cell phones the antenna isnt even located near the battery..i know in mine its not... its a scam how someone would believe it i dont know... man....if you could increase the power to the card you could probably obtain a better range... maybe something like the overclocking the usb port.. maybe it could be done with the pcmia slot??

They do make cards with monster range..I have one. It actually works (and it should for 90 bucks). It only does 802.11b, but has much much more range than regular cards. They claim it has a mile range, but that is just with their 270 buck router It is not vaporware, though. Uses something called D2D tech...

horizons wireless makes it...I think you can buy from
