No no. I was refering to the loose hinges.

The screws are only visible when you take off the screen bezel (the piece of plastic that perimeters the LCD screen). It is not the power panel. There are rubber plugs that need to be removed carefully, 4 screws underneath those plugs and then it pops off with a little coaxing. There is a bit of double sided tape at the bottom and sides underneath the plastic bezel. Be aware of it.

Be carefull if you do all of this as you could break something like the plastic.

Better yet call it in and tell them it is loose. If they say it's normal then you can complain a bit more cause it ain't.

Thanks for the info about disassembling the screen, I had a lot of screws loose in there.

BTW, Greetings from Lowell neighbor.

I'm still flicker free. 2 days now.

So, I'd say that to stop the flicker you need to insulate those goofy foil wrapped wires that go to the LCD. They apparently don't like to touch the metal plates and components in the system.

We will see. I have noticed this problem come and go. Keep us posted. It could come back without warning.

Greetings Peng.

Hmm.. I did not do that though, and I am flicker-free for about 2 weeks now. Probably I was lucky to push those wires in a perfect position

Mine was flickering like mad again, so I took off the top panel...again. When I have the top panel off, it's perfect...no flicker. I wiggled the left wire, but nothing happened. Maybe it's the plate on the top panel. I've got some vinyl electrical tape right here, time for some testing

You guys are bastards, now from reading this post, my m6811 is flickering like mad. When it does flicker, it does it horrible, but it does not do it all the time.

Can anyone give me a brief overview on what to look out for when I dissassemble the LCD fame. Someone said some tape or something? My flickering is from the left hand wire, and it is in the LCD frame where my problem is.

I also do not want to break anything, because I still have a warrenty.

The problem with tearing apart the frame is that the double sided tape on the round rubber screw covers gets screwed up sometimes, also the screen has double sided all around the perimeter, be careful taking it apart (BTW, my screen had six screws, not four as previously stated.) Also, be certain to remove the bezel with the quick launch buttons first.

Uhhg. More flicker. Will do more electrical taping of wires later. This is crazy.

I have six screws on my 7405 - four across the top of the LCD, and 2 at the bottom...

6 screws on mine too. Now that I got the whole thing apart it won't flicker. I wonder if it is the inverter overheating? Will wrapping the entire wire help? I actully have the LCD frame off and could do it if anyone thinks it will help. The only thing is that I wold have to take it all off if I want to RMA it.

The only question is why would they use sliver conductive wrap? If they wanted it isolated wouldn't they use a plastic or rubber?

I think the silver wrap is meant as sheilding, there is a rubber/plastic insulator beneath it. I'm begining to think it is a series of problems, pinched wires, and maybe overheating inverter...

They're using silver wrap on the wires? Maybe the flicker is due to some sort of cross talk between the wiring and the wrap...
