Did you try the Fn+Fx key combo?

Great, I just ordered the 4750 from discountlaptops and I am pretty sure it shipped with the Intel 2200. Have either of you cantacted Sager about getting a replacement card? I read on some earlier posts that someone had Sager swap out the 2200 for a Gigabyte card and that fixed the problem. Where did you guys get your laptop from?

I'm having more serious issues on top of that. I uninstalled the card to rule it out and I still have terrible stability when running at full speed so when I reboot after heavy usage i cannot use my computer for approx 45min-2hrs afterwards. DOS programs like memtest dont even run fully because out of the dozen times I've tried to run it, it has crashed and has gone frozen. I think I have a motherboard problem and am gonna request the Gigabyte card when I send it back in.

Not that it really matters, but who did you order your laptop through and how helpful have they been?

4750 & intel 2200 = problems. Try Sager to have them ship you the Gigabyte. Solved my problems.

i ordered through PCtorque, and when Sager denied having the gigabyte card and claimed there were no problems with the intel card, PCtorque was able to take care of it. I have to RMA my 4750 to solve the instability problems, and they will replace the card for me when they get it as well.

Do you have to pay shipping charges when you RMA a laptop?

Yes you do. But if you want to replace only a wireless card you shouldnt have to send in your laptop. Just let Sager send you a replacement wireless and you can install it yourself.

actually I have the gigabyte card
it still won't work
like it says it's enabled and everything but when I open the driver nothing shows up, no wireless connections or signals at all
I'm on a college freaking campus there were like 3 signals i could detect from any given spot when I got here
windows can't detect any connections either
ahhhh anyone know how to fix this?

i ordered mine from pctorque with the gigabyte card and it's worked perfectly out of the box, in fact when i first turned it on i connected to my neighbor's unprotected wireless connection

you might have a bad card, just call whoever you got the laptop from, see what they can do for you.

IceFire Update your software (from www.giga-byte.com) install, make sure you have your wireless on (3rd laptop light should be lit), then open up acu.exe (the newer wireless control thingie) and make sure the bottom right button that has red on it does not have a plus.

From the 4750 manual

Do you have the Bluetooth module installed?

Quote:
The Blue tooth & Wireless LAN Modules

Power Toggle for the Wireless LAN and Bluetooth Modules
You will need to enable power to the modules by using the following key combinations:

Fn + F11 = Wireless LAN Module Power Toggle
Fn + F12 = Bluetooth Module Power Toggle

When the Wireless LAN module is powered on, the LED will be green.
When the Bluetooth module is powered on, the LED will be orange.

Do not try to use the Wireless LAN module and the Bluetooth module at the same time, as this may cause a communication conflict.
If you have the Intel card, you may need to call Sager and get it replaced, You should be able to make the switch yourself if you are comfortable doing so. Good luck.
