TrueLove is a n00b, but everyone loves n00bs!
Acer Australia website also publishes the same spec for Aspire 1691 WLMi, except ATI Radeon X600 with 128 MB (http://www.acer.com.au/acer/akc/port...&current=15.4&).

I ordered that product but maybe I was lucky to get it with X700 installed.

Here in Germany, there are actually 2 different versions of the 1691, one equipped with crystalbrite and x600 and one w/o cb but with x700.

beware its in german, but the description is 'understandable'

My 8104 was running VERY stock with a lot of background processes, but I'd say your 8103 is looking prettttty good. Link to my benchies.
I have just bought an Elettrodata Nev@da SX-482 (an Italian brand that sells a Clevo M400A with another name)
simply opened the parcel et voilą:
3Dmarks: 5942 pts

CPU 1,8
HDD 80 GB 5400 rpm
1GB Ram /400 MHz (working at 333 because of the bus, I guess)

Hi,
Is the 750 chip less battery hungry compared to the 760 chip? The benchmark numbers here on page 1 are neck and neck for both chips. Not much difference between the 8103 & 8104 except an extra 512mb ram, which costs roughly $50. Basically i'm finding that its not even close to justify a $200-250 price margin between the 8103/8104.

Thanks,

Kvit

What you say is what has been reported by users of the 8103. A little less memory but pretty much same performance. The extra $200 for the 8104 gets u bragging rights and not a whole lot more.

Posted this on a couple of other threads, I just noticed this specific 3dmark thread.

Here's my 8100 with a 1.86 Pentium M, 1.5 gigz of 533 DDR2 (mismatched - getting a new 1 gig module soon), and the x700 overclocked. I'll be pushing for the 7000 score after work.

Cool. Tell us how crazy your willing to get . It looks like I'm the only one on these boards who's willing to push the x700 to the max.

Keep in mind that the prices have recently dropped somewhat, and you can now get the 8104 for only $160 more than the 8103. This is still a chunk of money, but I think a 2GHz processor is still worth an extra $50-80 more than a 1.86GHz (the Ram accounts for the rest). But I agree that if you're going to upgrade your ram to 2GB, then you might as well buy the 8103.
