Just spec'd out T43p

Just got off the phone with IBM and finished ironing out the details on my new T43p.... yes they are selling the P's they just haven't made the website yet.

2.13 gig processor

60 gig 7200 rpm primary harddrive

2gb 533 mhz ram

128 ati fire gl 3200 video card

15in uxga display

80 gig 5400 rpm secondary harddrive

dvd rw

with fingerprint reader

I got a 21% National Association of Realtors discount for a grand total of $2945. I saved over $800

3 to 4 weeks turnaround so I have to wait a bit, I will write a review once I take ownership.

Is the only way to spec one out over the phone?

Right now yes. You can spec out T43's on IBM's site but the T43P hasn't made it on there yet. I called IBM, they answered on the first ring after going through the menu. The guy was very nice and had all the answers to my questions right off the top if his head. I called the number listed on the top right of this page that lists all the available models (currently up on the site) and asked when they would be selling the T43P. He responded they are right now with a 3-4 week ship time.

Oooh, my mom is a member. What info do they need? Could I order it for her in her name, but bill it through myself?

I called IBM after reading this and was told the only T43's they had any info on were the three listed on IBM.com.Can you tell me the model # of the T43p you're talking about?
Also what do you mean by a secondary 5400rpm hard drive since the T42 only has one hard drive bay?

Very nice! Intel or IBM a/b/g? Bluetooth? Also, can you confirm that the t43's bluetooth is BT 1.x and not 2.0?

No Bluetooth 2.0 I'm aware of.
