Hmmm, about the graphics card, I am fairly sure we can't upgrade it. I have contacted Fujitsu at Singapore. They said it's not an upgradable module. Desktop GPU are not permanently sealed, but this unit, YES it's sealed! |

The X300 GPU is soldered onto the motherboard much like the way intergrated graphics are on desktop motherboards. It is not like a card that you plug in.
If you want to overclock the GPU, you might want to try ATI Tool. Google it. Cheers. |

I just got this laptop 2 days ago, and I can say nothing but great things. As you all know, it has a magnificent screen, boot-up times are very quick, it performs very well.
I dont know very much about graphics cards, from what I hear the ATI x300 is supposed to be very weak. Personally, i dont mind it just yet. Ive been playing Battlefield 2 and Half-Life 2, neither of them are set on High settings. Battlefield runs smoothly on low settings and no music (it lagged a bit when the music was on) but who needs it when bullets are flying in all directions?? As for Half Life 2, its also running pretty smooth - thats set on Medium settings, and I am very satisfied with its performance. (Sorry I cant help you guys on framerates, I dont know much about that stuff). Ive also played several movies and they have played without a skip. Ive been experiencing some heat on the bottom left palm-rest, but this could also be because Ive been running this machine to its limit. And the wireless unit could be better. It doesnt suck, it just acts up on random occasions (twice so far). I had it disconnect and connect for no aparent reasons on those occasions. Also, sometimes pages just wont load - I get the "Page not found" message, but when I check my signal it says "Excellent". I had heard of these issues before, but I have also read that its not the computer, but the Intel Pro 2200BG wireless chipset that is installed in the computer. This problem has spawned on other laptops with the same wireless chipset as well. As for a solution to the problem, I had read that Intel released some drivers for the chipset, they are currently downloading. (Stock driver is 9.0.1.9, the updated one is 9.0.2.1). I heard that the drivers help fix the issue, but I dont know from experience yet. I'll write another post after Ive had some time to test out the new drivers in a few days. But besides those little things, this is a great machine. as stated, ill post again after i play with the new drivers for a while. |

Have you tried installing the omega drivers for the n3510? It almost doubled my 3dmark05 score when i did. The drivers also enable hypermemory on the X300 which utilises some ram as shared video memory. |
