I saw those comments, and I did as said, but it didn't work this morning. (I'm also the last posted in the thread you posted.) I'll do it again, and if it doesn't work, I'll just switch to CHC. At the moment, I can't tell if undervolting has done a huge deal... my proc doesn't run at 100% for this long this often, so it's difficult to compare temps.
Thanks for the help -- it's been insightful. Hope things work out! Okay, when I restarted, I lost the settings again. Perhaps this will help -- when my programs load in the taskbar, RMClock does NOT -- even though, under the general tab, I have "Run Automatically at Startup" checked. When I closed the program, I clicked apply, and then clicked the red X. And then I installed my updates, restarted, and no RMClock; no settings. Ideas? Edit II: Okay, yes, RMClock does load, just after a very long time. Even so, it still does not save the settings under the Management tab. I guess I'll switch over to CHC today, then... ![]()

Depends on the processor. I can only get my 745 1.8ghz to 1.164v. That is sorta high for a 600m Anything lower and I get errors in prime95. I was able to get the min down to .700v. I consider this better as this will increase battery life and keep heat down while idling. Which I have it do a lot. However one of the reasons I did this was because World of Warcraft overheats at around 30 minutes. With the overvolt I can play for a few hours, but I still hit a throttling point. Oh well once I get my desktop built I probably wont game on this.

Toshiba question
I looked an could find no posts from anyone with a Toshiba.
I have an M200 that I'm currently havie run the the gauntlet and things seem to be going well but I have a few questions. The process as described checks the max and min but what of teh other steps in the processor? RMClock can load them all - so should they also be adjusted and tested? Does RMClock manage teh processor speeds properly by load? The Toshiba's come with a utility that adjusts the processor speed and display intensity according to profiles - the profile can also be flagged to auto step the processor with specified limits according to load. Will RMClock "fight" with the Toshiba util or will RMClock win? It seems like during testing that RMClock is successful in modifying the processor voltage but I don't want the syetem to start acting wacky. Are there any utils that someone may be aware of that can adjust the Display intensity? I guess that's enough questions for now... regards, Jon |

Hi All
I have done reading most of the thread and actually undervolt my CPU, I like the safe battery time and the temp drop of my CPU, but then I have question regarding the Harddisk issue, my computer is a Fujitsu N3510, and using CHC, I couldn't apply the customize fan speed, so after undervolt, my harddisk temp jack up to 67 degree Celusius, but after I remove the undervolt program, the fan kicks in normal and then my harddisk temp drops back to 54 degree Celusius. So my question is there any other program that can control fan speed except CHC or fangui for dell computer, or just I am out of luck of this undervolt program? Thanks in advance |

speedfan also controls fan speeds, but I am not sure with which computers it is compatible.

I try it out, and on the configure page, there is no fan to select, is it mean the program didn't support it? Or I need to enable it somewhere?

Hmm, not sure as I don't use it. Sorry.
![]() Two more thoughts: you could try searching the forums here a bit. Or, if you want, you can see if there is a checkbox somewhere to enable the fans. Honestly, I'm not sure how best to address you problem, but it may be best for you to head over theo Fuji forums. They might have some better answers than I, a Dell user, can provide.

you can go to the CPU Temp Control tab in Fangui and set the temps for when the fans come on and what speed they run, this might help your problem with the HDD...
good luck ![]() |

http://forum.rightmark.org/topic.cgi?id=6:275 is a good answer for that one. Unfortunately, I can't get RMC 1.6 to save my VIDs... so I'm not sure if I"m going to use it or 1.5. Also, I don't know the answer to your other questions. Good luck!

Can someone running RMClock V1.6 post a screen shot of their General and Management tabs? I'm not sure why my settings still aren't saving.

why is my banias always at 598 MHz?
I apologize if this has been addressed already, but I just downloaded RMClock, and regardless of my settings on it and regardless of whether or not I'm on AC or battery, it reports my processor as running at 598 MHz. Is this accurte?

sorry - I figured it out!
Sorry - I made RMClock always the top window and saw the surges of the clock above 598 MHz when the processor became active.

gmnstrunr37, use this version of RMClock 1.5, it works, no bugs:

(will explain later)mich43L, thanks for digging that up. I actually downloaded the .exe version of 1.5 today, but I got sick of RMClock's not working on me, so I double-clicked the "wipeout.reg" file, deleted the folder and the desktop icon, then deleted the 1.5 and 1.6 .exe files. When I went to download CHC, however, I realized I needed an up-to-date .NET account, and wasn't interested in going through and doing that. So I went looking for 1.5, but the 1.5 link was actually a link to 1.6. Not sure if it was a typo, I downloaded it (it was 1.6; not a type). So I went through and redid everything, exactly the same way I did to begin with, and for some reason, the settings saved. So right now, I'm running 0.716V as the minimal VID (probably could go to 0.700V, but I don't think it'll make that big a difference in heat anyhow) and 1.196V for maximal (can't go lower). That was a weird-ass trip. Interestingly enough, what worked I guess is NOT closing or clicking on the little-red X. Or maybe I had to use the wipeout.reg file, then redo all the settings. I have no idea, but I'm glad the bastard CPU finally runs a bit cooler. ivar -- 1.6 simply didn't work for me the first dozen times. I tried it all yesterday, restarting the heck out of the computer, and the bloody settings never saved once. Every time I restarted, I would have to go back and re-set all my desired voltages. I know it worked out perfectly for some people, but I can swear I didn't do anything differently the second time around. So indeed. No idea how things worked out.
