Oh yea, i would take a 5680 over an 8890 any day. while the 5680 isn't all that big IMO I think the 8890 would really be pushing it, but that's just me. I just really didn't need all those little extras that i know i'll never use.

Yeah I have to go with the 5680 after reading about the screen etc. Believe me I was tempted to go with the 8890 for the extra screen size (even though its less real estate) the serial port and the extra pcmcia port - also the 1hr battery life on the single battery for the 568- almost pushed me to the 8890.

But ... the 5680 just sounds like more what I am after size/screen wise and lets face it the battery life isnt why I am buying this thing anyway.

1) Get paycheck on Wednesday. Order 5680
2) ?
3) Profit

i'm having a problem with all the dead pixels thing, we want to order 30 of these units for cad design and all im reading is dead pixel! Has anybody got one that doesn't have a dead pixel? we buy yearly for our staff and this 5680 is one of the ones we are looking at, now my problem is i can't have 30 people emailing me about red dots on there screen while designing, They are already a pain in the Butt if you know what i mean! Last year we had dell c'840, out of 30, none of them have dead pixels, now im not a fan of dell that why we're shopping for the best or the greater. Is the standard screen better than the wide angle as far as No Dead Pixels, or is this a sager thing that people have to live with?

It's not a Sager thing. It's an LCD thing.

Start a poll to see how common the dead pixel thing is with Sagers.

Maybe the LCD manufacturers send only the good ones to certain companies, and send the rest (ones with 1 or more dead pixels) to others?

I highly doubt that though...

Has anyone received a SAger 5680 without a dead pixel?

I've personally already heard of 3-4 people with no dead pixels on 5680s...

alright since i guess adam is pretty buzy (it is a weekend) i'm trying to host the pictures over multiple angelfire accounts for now. The first 5 or so should be up now and all but one should be up within the next few min. Feel free to keep the requests rolling in.

Oh and i ran Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and with everything on high it ran very good at 1024x768 and also ran very well with some of the texture and color depths at 16bit at 1600x1200. I'm sure it could run with more stuff turned up, but that's just what i tried. Oh and my 3dmark 2003 score with no tweaking and lots of crap installed was around 2850 or so.

Sure, i'll try to have some up tommorow of SOF II, MOHAA, and Maybe BF1942. Just give me time cause i have to set up another angelfire account, don't want my pics going down again because of bandwith limitations.
