You are browsing within the review sections of our forums. Content within these sections reflect consumer opinions of laptops. Our admins take the best and most objective laptop reviews and index them here to create a distinct selection of quality reviews with averaged overall ratings. Many of these reviews have benchmarks attached to them which allows for users to compare their laptop's performance with others, and ultimately enables us to provide a sortable list which at a glance show the fastest laptops amongst a variety of applications (gaming, video editing, web browsing, etc...). you're killing my eyes, B, cut that out.

As for the Z71V screen, mine is excellent, flawless, and I'm very happy with it. I don't use an all-green screen and very rarely see an all white background, and I don't have any grainy or sparkle effect.

Not everyone here sells products. Most people on any public forum are consumers and fans. I am not here as a seller. If i were here to advertise you would see a link. There is no link in my profile and no link in my posts. The people who know me here know me from past threads they were involved in. I post here on my own behalf. My personal oppinion of this laptop as a gaming/performance machine is excellent. If you want to use in with word and excell its still excellent for the money you pay for it. I think once people get these units delivered they will see what i mean. So far we have delivered quite of few of these. I ve had no complains. This means either people didnt open it or this is perfectly acceptable by majority of users. I guess if i had posted in the forums "oh by the way this laptop got some weird spot issue which causes headaches and blindness" would have been politaclly neutral....but can you imagine what kind of responce would be by the hundreds of people that preordered this and read these forums. This applies to everyone. If the majority of people find this to be anything more then "temporary surprise...[ye i know i just made that up]" i would personally call my dealer and work something out. If enough people complain about any product the manufacturers usually raise their eye brows.

Same here. I went through about half a dozen since yesturday most have what is described except the grainy screen. I have not seen that. The dark spots here are better described as some sort of "prizm" effect in certain conditions which are not there when the backlight is full throttle like when playing a game or on any color other then very light/white 2d.

Hey ppl
Im from oz
We get jack as far as computers are concerned so I drool with envy at the USA specs that get posted.
One dealer of Z71 models in Australia is Digital Star: they are selling a "Z71VP" with the 128 mB 6200 card but only offer 1200 x 800 res. Can't seem to find a model with that - either Z71A or Z71V but ain't no Z71VP no where to be seen so must be their own barebones frankenstein version. I thought 120x800 was only on the A's.

Looks like a sleek machine but is that res going to piss me off with games?
Cheers

I have seen a simliar model called the Evesham C510 which is fundamentally a Z71V model. They are giving an option of a 1200X800 WXGA screen or an upgrade to 1680X1050 WXGA+. Though this machine comes with a 6600Go, have not seen the 6200 on this laptop yet.

Can you please check the mah rating on your battery. Also I am wondering if the battery timings has anything to do with voltage. I doubt it but i dont know how it differs from uk to usa. I ve gone back and rechecked the battery. With low setting and low brightness we just cant get any more then 3 hours on it on continues 3dmark and movies. SO i dont know how you got 4.5 hours. Yes the official model is z71vp from the z7100 series. Can someone please post a link to any of the asus subsite where this model is advertised. I am looking for the flash intro but none to be found, The global site has flash for all of them. I will reward whoever finds it with the getting jiggy banana
