Changing out CPUs from Laptop to Desktop?

I have the Pent 3.4 64 bit that I would like to transfer from my Sager 9860 to my Desktop that has a Pent 3.0. Is it possible to do this? If so could someone give me instructions or link to a website that shows step by step, thanks.

The main reason I'm doing this is I'm hoping that will increase battery life.

well if your main reason is to save batt life, dont even start it wont save you anything worth the trouble. i have several 9860 here with processors ranging from 3.2 to 3.6 and there is no difference.
