I am using the burn-in software to stress test it. Prime95 only gives me 75% cpu utilization. The burn-in software, i had post in the voltage thread, gives me 100% utilization.

Tried ver 1.5, still BSODs.
A question that is off topic, smilepak, was the OS pre-installed on your laptop? |

Afterwards, stick in the Asus CD to install the drivers.

Oops, I mean that the upgrade CD is actually a full version cd, but you need another legit Windows CD to verify it. After its verified, then it installs from the 'upgrade' disk.
I also installed all the drivers and utilites, except the last one or two, which was not of any use for me or the system. |

Seriously, nice find, but I'm going to stay away from it right now. Sounds a little bit out of my depth technologically, and I always like to understand what I'm doing as much as possible before I do it. To all the undervolters out there, enjoy! ![]()

Na - both my dad's pc and my old pc had windows xp home upgrade on them. To install it on a clean hard drive, like he said, you boot up the cd like normal, and the only difference between it and the full retail or oem edition is that after accepting the license agreement it will make you insert a previous version of windows to verify that you have something else. I've actually installed xp home upgrade using a copy of xp pro before
![]() then you take out the disk, and the installer thinks nothing more about it. The only reason it does this is if no partitions on the hard drive have windows installed. I'd try running system file checker (sfc in command prompt) km2 and if nothing is awry there, try reinstalling the asus drivers. Don't have a z71v - just some suggestions. |

What is this burn-in software? Is it only for the Asus or can you use it on other lappys? Can you post a link for download?
