Screen Issues
I've read other people's problems with screen flickering, and Sager saying something like the screens werent designed to be this bright and thats why they malfunction...anyway, to get to the point, I noticed my screen started flickering. I took out the AC adapter to make sure it wasnt that, but it continued flickering when it was on the brightest setting. I figured before I asked for an RMA number, I'd make sure that:
1) they'd give me one 2) there is anything I can do to fix it without sending it in anyone know anything I dont?

When I recently sent my 8790 back in, one of the reasons was for the screen flicker. It normally wouldn't do it that much once the screen was totally open, but I'd notice it get dimmer while opening the lid. They didn't give me any grief about it (they had to take it back anyway to fix the artifacting). What they said was wrong was the backlight inverter so they replaced that. Didn't mention anything about the screen not being meant to be as bright as it was so who knows where that's coming from. . .

Mine flickers when opening and closing the laptop, but normally I can set it in a position to where it doesnt flicker and is bright. Any None fix for this? Seems to me like it is a loosening wire or connection problem, not an lcd failure.

I had the "Screen Flicker" problem also. I RMA'd the box but since I live near Sager I brought it in myself. The report they gave me was..."We can't find any problems"... but they did replace the "Back Light Inverter". Go figure!!!! No charge, under warranty, and very nice to me while while I was there. It's a small place and they let me boot up and try my favoriate game or program to check the screen for as long as I wanted. Nothing bad to say about the service.
