Even a 512KB Celeron-M is a fantastic CPU. If it had Speedstep it would be extra wonderful .Banias would probably never hit 2.13 in a notebook though anyway. In a desktop you probably could get one there.

I just ordered a 9300 with a 1.6ghz....I already have a 700m which has a 1.6ghz 725 in it....can I switch the processors around giving the 700m the 533fsb from the 9300 and give the 9300 the 400fsb from the 700m? How will the 700m recoginize the 533fsb processor?

The 700m will work fine with the 9300's 1.6 but it will be running at 1.2 ghz instead of 1.6.

Time to chalk up another success story. Finally got around to pinmod my 1.6 and it worked like a charm the first time around.. the only problem is that it seems to run a tad hot so far (43 degrees, hardly in use compared to around 30 before). Anyone know why? I applied AS5 but as far as I know it will take a while before it reaches max effect.. hmm, i won't be happy if this temp doesn't drop considerably.

Different core revisions but same die size. They obviously cleaned up some voltage leaks with the 533's but dont let it bother you. 29.4* in my house at the moment and 35* cpu. Let the AS5 cure for a while.

ok after reading almost this whole thread can u guys tell me if this sounds about right ?
the 1.7 best chance of the cpu's to run stable @ highests speed ? 1.6 most likely ro run without trouble ? i would really liek to mod for the greatest performance increase , otherwise its not really worth it . thanks to all who help ![]() |

yes, from what i gather about 90 to 95% of the time 1.7 to 2.26 works, where as about 100% of the time 1.6 to 2.13 works (I have yet to hear a case where it didn't work), and maybe 20% (perhaps much higher) of the time you can get a 1.8 to 2.4 ghz by simultaneously doing Vcore mods. I stuck with the 1.6 to 2.13 and sometimes wish I went witth the 1.7 but its only 133 mhz difference in speed
