Does any of you have any suggestion to fix the cover stress line break?
Unfortunatately, a piece of the cover is missing. Still looking for this piece Sincerely, vodka Here are the photo (look at bottom left of the photo):

Do you have any advice to prevent this from occurring, vodka? I have the same model (from sager) and it is starting to crack in roughly the same location.

I think it was probably cause through opening the lid & closing it with time,
without me noticing the lid until one day a long line appears grossly visible as you close slowly your laptop lid. The piece missing was because i let it further disperse and break-off because i was too lazy/negligent to put a scotch-tape on top of it. it will break off one day, anyway. Last weekend, I dropped my notebook from 3 feet while transporting in its original bag. Luckily, nothing happened. I'm telling this to support the idea that it was not cause by mishandling nor shock accident, but through "normal" usage. I rarely close the lid except when transporting from one place to another, then again I always handle it with care, beside the last incident. I looked further at the other side, it has a slight nearly visible "vertical stress-line", therefore i would say the plastic material used for the lid is way too fragile and thus of inadequate quality for long-term use for a notebook like ours. Anyway guys, i've looked in the forum through previous post and it looks like a lot of people are experiencing this type of cracks: "stress-line fracture". I'm starting to get worried about the other side. Something must be done. Take care vodka

I have had just the same kind of failure on my Nexoc E801 (identical to Clevo D870P, Sager 8790, Hypersonic GX-7, Eurocom etc.).
Got the LCD back cover replaced for free. It is about 20 € at www.clevo-computer.de. Roger |
