Looking at this review, do you think this person has a high tolerance for heat or takes breaks in between<>? This is off my list, now its either the 14" Gateway or a Dell.

it's pretty common for any manufacturer to put the hard drive under the right palmrest - i agree that there should be either more shielding, or even maybe a small fan for some active cooling.
I disagree with the reviewer that this is "Asus first try" at notebooks. It's actually been a few years, and I would take the Asus over a Toshiba anyday (i have both). I appreciate the review though, thanks!

I want the W3V so bad, but having something that may end up burning me is bad. Undervolting would decrease the CPU temps, but do nothing about the Hard Drive. Is there anyway to decrease temps from the Hard Drive?

Well, I wanted to be able to carry it around with me and not worry about heat, so to have a cooler defeats the purpose.

From what I've read undervolting helps, but only with heat from the CPU. It looks like the best way to decrease HD temps is to max the RAM & disable page filing.
But I have heard the new Seagates are cool.
