4780 ATI 9600 Catalyst Driver download

I tried downloading the new catalyst drivers from ATI, and they wouldn't install. Something to the effect that "no supported hardware". Sager has not updated there drivers since '04. Where and how can I get up to date drivers for my video card?

www.driverheaven.net use the mod tool or grab one of the pre modded sets from Omegacorrner or DNA.

Downloaded the new ATI Mobility drivers 5.7 I think. Do you think these are better than the modded ones here? I am playing BF2, and am not sure if my drivers are freaking my graphics out, or if I am overheating my vid. I was thinking about using the pre-modded ones again.

What do you guys think?

You're prolly overheating the video card/CPU. You can try what I do when I'm gaming - stick a 300 or so page paperback book under the rear of the laptop to prop it up and let the fans under the laptop breath more freely. Don't stick the book in much further than an inch to avoid blocking a fan.

I find this helps keep the laptop 3-5 degrees C cooler.

Hope this helps

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

I do notice, that I seem to be having some issues with those drivers though. My colors freak out once in awhile. Which never happened with the modded ones.

I may go back the mods.

You might also try the Omega drivers. I've used them in the past and they're pretty good. I'm pretty sure there's a link to Omega's site on Driverheave.net

Started using the Omega drivers. Video still freaks out after playing awhile.

BTW: I am playing BF2 most of the time. It is warm here, so I am sure that my lptop isn't happy. maybe I'll put a fan on it!
