Our admins take the best and most objective laptop reviews and index them here to create a distinct selection of quality reviews with averaged overall ratings. Many of these reviews have benchmarks attached to them which allows for users to compare their laptop's performance with others, and ultimately enables us to provide a sortable list which at a glance show the fastest laptops amongst a variety of applications (gaming, video editing, web browsing, etc...). If you want to change anything, you have to buy this lappy through net, or make a little conversation with Fujitsu salesman. There shouldn't be any problems at all.
Oh, and remember then M4438G has got its graphics card on MXM slot. It means, then in future we (probably) will be able to upgrade graphics card!
Do you really think it will be? I don't know what to say...
I'll be very glad if chips like this would come out
The problem with this graphics card is that uses DDR1 memories at 600 Mhz(2*300) and this reduces a lot the performances respective to the GDDR3 memories (1000 Mhz).
http://www.findarticles.com/p/articl...02/ai_n9778403
So I think that for a performance gain we will need to exchange all the graphics card, not just the GPU...otherwise there will be just another bottleneck between the GPU and the memory it uses.
I couldn't find too much info on this MXM stuff...just that it's interchangeable...but what actually is interchangeable?

Does anyone know this?

Oh, and Belch, doesn't it seem a little too hot this laptop for you? I have the 3438 but I don't think it makes any difference in this. I haven't had a laptop so far so I don't know exactly about the temperatures...Although the 4-year warranty is safe enough i just don't want it to break I'm getting very fond of it :P

Its a S-ATA harddrive. I have the exact one.
Could you please post what version you have of Powercinema Linux and a photo of the program when using harddrive to play movies? I can only see strange maps like "all users" and "favourites" and such. And wherever I put my movies or mp3 or whatever, they cant be found in Powercinema Linux.
Also, despite what Cyberlink says, you can play divx movies when correct codec is installed. But for me, only from DVD/CD.

Could it be a file system issue, i.e. that PowerCinema recognises FAT32 partitions but not NTFS partitions? OTOH, I suppose most if not all laptops today are preformatted with NTFS...

It's not that.
My harddrive is formatted in NTFS and PowerCinema sees it when I boot.
Later I will post the version and the picture because now I have to run for the exam.

Personally I don't know but I think there are other forums where you will sure get a correct answer.like Windows or smth...

I will also want to reinstall the Home edition because I want XP professional edition. Hope I won't have so many problems with it

I hope you talk to Fujitsu a.s.a.p for this issue. We all should contact their support because we need a solution. Preferably a bios with more options. If we all make an effort they cant ignore us.

What I found so far, on german Amilo forums, is that, MXM series even havn't got extended BIOS. I'll seek yet.
Oh, one more question? Did M3438 (or M4438) have got miniPCI slot? It would be nice to put there BT module instead using one USB port.

I haven't seen anything on the specification that mentions miniPCI, unless there's another name for it.

I have a quick question as well for any fujitsu owners here. My lappy (3438G) seems to shutdown without any reason from time to time (during gaming). Does anyone else have this same problem? And yes, my comp does get pretty hot as well, too hot almost...

Of course, there could be just some stupid reason for my problem.. but maybe not.

Sounds like overheating. Where are you using it?

I don't think there is a mini-PCI slot, but instead of attaching an external Bluetooth USB dongle you could buy a Bluetooth SD card to insert in the smart card slot, provided that you don't need it for other stuff...
