Not sure about GPU temp. I've been trying to find a good application that will report it.

As for CPU...

On Idle 800Mhz @ 0.700v..around 40c - 45c
On full usage doing DVD Encoding for my stuff...57c - 58c...@ 1.020v

What was interesting that I didn't know. Directly below the FAN in the center of the bottom part of the laptop is NOT the GPU. It is actually the Intel Chipset. The interesting part is this fan cool both the GPU and the Intel chipset at the same time.

I also just finish my AC5 applying. I got it over the GPU and the Intel Chipset too. Man, that chipset is as larger then the pentium-m cpu. heeh

So AC5 on CPU, GPU, and Intel Chipset.

Yo! Here are my compiled test I've done with a few drivers version so far. Including the most recent 77.30 video driver as well.

Video Performance:

Using stocked nVidia Driver v71.13
3D Mark 2005: 1720 (Stocked Setting)

Using XtremeG nVidia Driver v71.84
3D Mark 2005: 1780 (Stocked Setting)

Using XtremeG nVidia Driver 71.84
3D Mark 2005: 1970 (300 Core / 500 Memory)

By CMYK (his Asus Z71v - Driver: v76.44)
3DMark05: 1787 (Stocked Setting)

Using Standard nVidia 77.30
3DMark05: 1813 (stocked setting)

Using Standard nVidia 77.30
3DMark05: 2060 (300 Core / 500 Memory)

---

Using the new forceware 77.30 driver
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1092

* Note: This new version seems to support "Digital Flat Panel Setting" in the control panel

* Another Note: 77.30 will fix the shadow problem found in BF2.
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread....=&pagenumber=1

As of June 13th, the latest leak version is 77.50!!!!

could you also compare the 76.45 driver and the 73.00 from Asus' Z71v support site?

I was using 76.45 previously, I had post it somewhere around here but can't find it. It is much faster than 76.45.

Not sure about 73.00 from Asus support site. I haven't tried that one.

I'll try the 77.50 next, since I had heard it is a tad better than 77.30. But I was amaze how much improvement from 77.30 over 76.44.

I would use anything above 76.00. Anything older than it, many claims to have the tempeture bug.

This link seems to be broken. Can anyone point me to where I can get a (prefer free) system (temperature/fan, etc.) monitoring app for Z71V? I'm not overclocking or anything, but just curious how hot this baby is running sometimes.
