Hahaha, bannedninja, I love how you take everyone's gripes and crush 'em down with the Grand Hammer of Irrelevance. Bwuahaha, nice review, man
I still think since I've got the 3200 I'll hold out for the 4200. Want to sell me your bluetooth mouse? ![]()

Did we buy the same Ferrari 3200? Mine doesn't make any noises, doesn't flex at all... no swelling, hardly any heat even during gaming. I think either a) you're cracked b) you expect far too much c) or you live in a volcano and the only reason you have heat/flex issues is because IT IS MELTING!

I'm not the only one who's had those problems. I expected just what I should have for a laptop that is officially licensed by Ferrari. Ferrari Quality. And I didn't get it.

Well if you play Counter-Strike for >2 hours on the Ferrari4005WLMi you will feel it heating up under your left hand. Actually I think it is getting a little bit warmer that I would like it to be. But if I plug out the AC cord CS still runs great and the machine is a lot cooler. I think it must be the graphics card that's to blame for the heat, because when the power cord goes out the X700 switches to "balanced" settings. I don't think the CPU throttles down when on DC, or am I wrong?

i agree ferrari dark. I actually use the cleaning cloth that came with the ferrari 4000 as a sort of heat sink/padding for my left hand to tackle the heat on the left side of the touch pad. Only heats up to a point where it can be uncomfortable when I play games though. VERY PLEASED WITH THE 4000.
Has anyone heard anything about the supposed Ferrari 4200 coming out?

Got it from PC Super Deals. They can't really screw it up... I got the 3 year warranty. All they had to do was take the ferrari box and put it into a bigger box with my name on it. Resellers with whitebox laptops are a lot easier to choose from because they aren't physically touching my machine.
UPDATE GUYS There is an built-in microphone?? I didn't know about this at all, but when I installed BF2 and it brought up my mic settings, I sneezed and I heard it through my speakers. I started talking and it all came up. I don't know where it is... I think near the front. I didn't know and shoot me if you guys knew about it :-X

I am considering buying an Acer Ferrari 4005 and a have a few "newbie" questions:
- Does the 64 bit CPU run any kind of 32 bit software? Any compatibility issues? I guess not, but I'd like to confirm; - I just returned a HP zd8185 because it's /way too noisy/. How is the noise level on "normal usage" conditions for the Acer? I'll have it in my bedroom, so I would like to get the quietest laptop I can find (as long as it has great performance, of course...) |

AMD64 processors runs all kinds of 32-bits software, and is able to run the new WinXP 64bits too
![]() Don't buy the ferrari 4005wlmi if you have a problem with fan noise. The fan is constantly on. See this thread http://www.notebookforums.com/showth...4&page=3&pp=15 |
