For Windows:

Apache Webserver: host files for people, serve files to people without having to muck about with email or IM-filetransfer.

Sygate Personal Firewall

gaim, the IM client

And, of course, Linux. I use Gentoo, but that's just preference.

Limewire. but watch out because it has many viruses on it and it is not legal to download songs (free songs).

Hey thanks I downloaded Limewire, but I am finding that alot of the movies that I download wont play. Maybe it's just a bad choice of movies. I am going to keep it for a while and try it out, see what happens. Thanks

Hey it was a MP3 file. I cant understand why it would not work in windows media player, but the same file would work in real player.

TreeSize is fast for finding where all your disk space went.
It's free for local drives.
Google to find it.
