NBF Janitor-HEY! I just mopped there!
|
*Just Added* Limited time offer beginning 9/15/05 5:00pm CST through 9/20/05 5:59am CST or after 2000 redemptions (whichever occurs first) Dell Home ONLINE ONLY Save 35% off Select Inspiron Notebooks containing the following evalue codes: 111-i6000a6 , 111-i700ma2 or 111-i9300a2 (before tax, fees and shipping & handling) Offer may be combined with select other offers. Only one coupon may be applied per cart at checkout. Coupon code expires after first 2000 uses, or earlier if offer is terminated earlier. Offers subject to change. Below are the 3 Evalue Codes this coupon can be used for:
111-i6000a6 111-i700ma2 111-i9300a2 Coupon code 1F3987R8HMBHL3 <a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=yI98vLVNFiA&offerid=85078.10000288&type=1&subid=0" >Buy a DELL Now!</a><IMG border=0 width=1 height=1 src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=yI98vLVNFiA&bids=85078.10000288&type=1&subid=0" > Along with more at the coupon post: http://www.notebookforums.com/showpo...28&postcount=2 While Dell may slow down/stop coupon releases for awhile or forever, it's their choice. I doubt they'll get rid of them, it just may be that new things are around the corner and they're sitting good and not needing to clean out any inventory. Owners of websites that only cared about their site to make money off it (banner ads/affiliate links) are screaming bloody murder. Myself, being an enthusiast of computers, notebooks, and gaming... *shrug*

i can say im not happy because after a long somewhat protracted process of deciding i had finally come down to the gen2 after the coupon because it was a deal that i couldnt beat anywhere else. dell removing the deal either for now or for ever is going to cost them orders not just from those who are owners of websites that made money off dell, but from their community in general, dell needs to realize that the reason some of the higher end machines were selling is that they had an amazing price, without the coupon the price is very comparable to anyone elses and dell will be losing sales.

I believe this suspension of coupons is related to last quarterly financial report. If you follow news you should know Dell's still making money but LESS-THAN-EXPECTED. The stock got ding big time. Bottom line was that Dell SOLD MORE UNITS BUT REALIZE LESS PROFITS than anticipated. DELL admitted error in product pricing during their quarterly conference call.
I guess they try to sort out new pricing structure by taking away coupons for a clean assessment. My guess is that there will be coupons in the future but in a limited way. We will not see floods of discounts like use to be. |

while i dont doubt that it is related to that i will say that they will lose market share, sales, and ultimately brand loyalty over this. taking away someones big incentive to purchase the product means that they wont buy it. if dell is equally priced to an alternative system from one of the other manufacturers especially in the hard business of gaming machines like the xps gen 2 and ultimately does nothing to really bring in the customer the sales will take a hit. for the longest time one of the biggest selling points of the xps2 was that it was much cheaper than alternatives from sager and alienware among others, without the coupon it is no longer the case and dell absolutely will lose sales over it.
with high end systems brand loyalty is all important and if people dont buy from dell there will be no brand loyalty to develope.

Hope good coupons are back soon, I know I would have never bought my 9300 without coupons! Dell wasn't even on my buying radar before I found out about 40% off coupons.

So Dell is done giving coupons? Great. I just asked everyone in my family for Dell gift cards for my birthday so I could buy a laptop for school. I was planning on getting a pretty loaded I6000 with a 40 or 45% off coupon.
If they don't give coupons, I am not buying from them. |

This is absolutely BS from Dell. Even with the old prices, a 35% discount coupon (or $750 off) was still cheaper and a better deal compared to their new pricing + a 20% discount. Seems like it's about $200 more expensive now on a typical Pentium D desktop system.
