I noticed that the EPP does not allow the i6000D.

Maybe if I didnt own my own business, I might have been lucky enough to work with a headset and a spatula like yourself. There's always reincarnation... I can always hope.

BTW, what I was saying is that if you use the EPP (I used a "borrowed code") it is not valid on configure to order inspiron 6000's.

At what point do I have to enter some sort of specialized code for using the EPP site? Clicking that link takes me in directly, no questions asked, allowing access to all of the coupons you've listed.

Do they actually care who uses these? Do you really need to be "eligible"?

As long as you know a EPP code you should be fine. ALso note certain epp codes (usually school related codes) will restrict your purchases to certain models for example a lot of high tech schools that issue a single model laptop to there students will usually restrict you to that particular model in there premier site at dell.com.

If you have a code, it should work. I wouldn’t know, though. We have a code through my dad’s work

Grrr! I don't have an EPP. So the deal definitely does not work if you don;t? Is there a way to share an EPP?

Will the two coupons work without the EPP 12% if you don't have an EPP?

But it doesn't seem like you even NEED to enter an EPP code at all. When you click the link, you're brought to a page where you're REQUESTED to enter your EPP code. And if you don't know it, you just choose your employment category from the pulldown menu and you get into the store anyway.

I don't have an EPP code. I work for a company that doesn't fall into one of those categories (we have fewer than 500 employees). But there's nothing on this website that seems to be stopping me from ordering here anyway.

Am I missing something here? This all seems way too easy.

Well, I've placed an order.

To cover my bases, I called Dell's sales support and asked about my situation. The conversation went something like this:

Me: I just found all of these coupons for your EPP program. But I don't work for a company that has any kind of employee relationship with Dell. Can I still use these?

Sales guy: So, you found some kind of back door?

Me: Back door? It looked more like a front door - a big shiny webpage that asked me no questions and simply offered me laptops for almost no money. I certainly didn't hack your website.

Sales guy: [laughing] Well, if you were able to find EPP coupons and build a shopping cart, I'd say consider it your lucky day. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to place your order.

Me: Thanks!

So I placed an order. And just to be ABSOLUTELY sure I wasn't doing anything fraudulent, in the checkout field where you're asked to put your employer, I put "self-employed". I'm not sure how much more blatant I can make it that I don't have an EPP code.
But my order went through - an i6000 system stacked up to just over $2000, and therefore eligible for all of the discounts discussed in the thread. My total savings was just under $1000.

I've also received both my order acceptance notification and my order confirmation emails. At this point, I have no reason to think this won't ship.
