3DMark05: Highest for x6000
Just wanted to know the max capacity for the Radeon Mobility X600 on either the ZD8000 or X6000. I was able to get 2124 in 3DMark05 with core at 475MHz and memory at 333MHz (no artifacts). Was using Omega 2.6.53 (Catalyst 5.7) drivers.

I'm sorry, I'm still newbish, but I've been hearing lots about 3DMark05 with a set of numbers without units next to it... Is this like a framerate tester or something? Hell, I'll just go google it..

WoW, is there that much differance between the x600 and Geforce 6800 Ultra?
Sager and dell forums have people posting scores 5000+ and i've seen a couple in the low 6000 range....... I know nothing about these benchmark scores, but does say a computer that scores a 4000 twice as "good" as one that only scores a 2000? |

The driver definitely matters. If you'll look for posts by smilepak, he's been testing out the Nvidia 6600 Go on his Z71V, and he shows the gradual progression of everything from the official drivers, to the notebook's drivers, to tweaked drivers. Although this was on an nVidia card, I'm sure it applies in the same way to the X600.

Depending on which "stock" settings its at, the X700 usually does _around_ 2000. Overclocked, it nears the 3,000 range; unfortunately, though, there doesn't seem to be many benchmarks with the x600 or x700. As for the x600, check out this benchmark.
And isn't encoding largely a CPU intensive task? |
